Treatments for Impotence

There are numerous methods that are used to treat impotence or erectile dysfunction, and it does depend on the type of impotence, and the severity of impotence that the sufferer has. One step to help cure impotence is to undergo a lifestyle change which could in itself help the sufferer. Because impotence can be caused by such things as stress, then it has to be identified how that stress can be reduced. If the sufferer also is a heavy smoker then he needs firstly to stop smoking and monitor the results. Obviously if nothing changes after the smoking has stopped then other areas have to be investigated. But often in the less serious cases many men can be helped by undergoing counselling to combat stress or depression, or stopping abusing their bodies with smoking, excessive alcohol or drugs.
